We’re Here To Keep Your Family Safe
Pests are more than just annoying- they can actually be a danger to you or your family. This is most often the case when it comes to spiders. While very rare, Colorado is home to the brown recluse spider and the more common black widow. Bites from either of these spiders is cause for serious medical concern.
Besides danger, pests like mice and rats can damage your property if left unchecked. At best, a pest infestation just gives you that creepy crawly feeling that no one enjoys. That’s where Highlands Ranch Family Pest Control comes in.
Give us a call. We can help.
Great Pest Control Includes Pest Prevention!
Most of the time, people call us when they have a pest problem. One visit from exterminators and pests are gone. But rather than simply solving your current pest problem, we encourage you to take a proactive approach.
Consider this: how many black widow spiders are you okay with having in your home? How many bed bugs do you consider acceptable in your bed? We hope the answer is zero for both!
The point we’re making is that there is no amount of pests that are acceptable to have in your home. By having regular visits from our pest control service you can get ahead and play the prevention game instead of the reaction game.
This applies to both residential and commercial properties.
Our Highlands Ranch Pest Control Company Does It All!
Our professional team can handle any number of pest problems. Many bugs, small mammals and other pests like the same types of environments. This means once you see one pest there’s a good chance you have more. We’re here to help with that.

Spider Removal and Control Services
Who wants a home full of spiders? No one that we know! While spiders are present year round we find that they wander into Highlands Ranch homes in the fall as temperatures start to drop. While the most common Colorado spider is the harmless funnel weaver spider Black Widows are also common in Colorado. And as most of us know, a bite from a Black Widow spider can be very dangerous.
Black widows are known for their red hourglass-like marking on the underside of their abdomen. Because just about every photo of a black widow shows this prominent feature, many people don’t realize that the red marking is on the underside of the spider and as a result should not be used to identify the spider.
Are you interested in flipping over a possible black widow to check? We didn’t think so.
Female back widows are about 1.5 inches long with males about half the size. If you see a mostly black spider about that size, it’s time to give us a call.
The famous brown recluse spider has also been found in Colorado but is much less common. Anyone bit by this dangerous spider should seek immediate medical attention.
Most spiders prefer dark dry areas where they’re not likely to be frequently disturbed. Keep in mind that insects are the primary food source for spiders. If you have spiders in your home there’s a good chance that they came in not only for the warmth but for the food source too.
Mice and Rat Removal and Control
Mice and rats are common in Colorado homes. More often, you find the results of a rat or mouse infestation before you actually see a rodent. That could be damage to your home as a result of nesting or feces left behind as they run around throughout the night. Left unchecked, rodents can cause significant damage to your home.
Often times an important part of small mammal pest control is adjusting any structural damage to your home that allowed them to enter in the first place.
Bed Bug Inspection and Removal
When you think bed bugs most people think hotels or other temporary housing spaces. But the fact is bed bugs are everywhere in Colorado and no one is really safe. These barely visible little critters most commonly hide in clothes and beds and are notoriously difficult to get rid of. But don’t worry, Highlands Ranch Family Pest Control is here to help.
The most common sign of bed bugs is three linear bites on your arms or legs. However, like most bug bites, different people respond differently. Some people don’t even show bite marks!
Because it is so difficult to see bed bugs with the naked eye, many people actually have bed bugs but don’t know it! That’s a big reason why bed bugs have been able to spread across the state.
Wasp Removal and Control Services
Wasps really peak in the summer months when they can be found making their home on front porches, on patios, around the pool and sometimes on your children’s playground!
While wasps aren’t particularly aggressive, the problem comes from where they choose to make their home which is usually in the same spots that people congregate. We see wasp nests every year at Northridge Park in Highlands Ranch! Wasps can also nest deep inside of structural items which can make reaching them difficult. But it’s not a problem for our pest control professionals.
While much less common in Colorado as compared to other parts of the nation, ants are still a problem during the spring when they become active again. The tricky part about ants is that when there is one ant, there will soon be hundreds and eventually thousands.
This is a result of the pheromone trails that ants leave to food. Once an ant finds food, he leaves a trail behind him that every other ant in the colony can find. As ants keep coming to the pheromone trail to the food grows stronger and more ants keep coming. Highlands Ranch Family Pest Control can put a stop to the ant highway.
Earwig Control and Removal
Earwigs are most well known for their pincer-like forceps on their hind end. While their pincers make them look tough earwigs are not venomous. Still, their pinch is certainly painful. Earwigs prefer moist, wet environments but tend to enter homes during the winter when things get cold. Like many other bugs, they lie mostly dormant during the winter and spring into action in the warmer months.
While our pest control team can help eliminate earwigs, it’s important to eliminate the dark and damp environments that these bugs love as part of a pest prevention plan.
Unlike the other bugs on this list, cockroaches really don’t take much time off at all. Instead, many species breed year round. These bugs are tough. While the products available to consumers can kill the actual bugs, their eggs are generally unaffected which means you still end up with more roaches.
Flea Control and Removal
For the most part, we’re safe from fleas in Colorado. But that doesn’t mean that if you see one you should ignore it with the assumption that there won’t be more. Fleas are the most famous disease carrier in history (they spread the bubonic plague) but modern fleas are more likely to cause tapeworms in your pets.
Commercial Pest Control
Commercial pest control is a must for many businesses, especially those in the hospitality industry. Your customers don’t care how many rats, mice, cockroaches, wasps, bed bugs or other pests are present in your place of business. One is enough to write off your business for good and for customers to tell every person they know about the time they saw a rat at your restaurant.
Don’t take a chance and don’t try to play a reactive game. Be proactive when it comes to best control for your business.
Residential Pest Control
Residential pest control is all about keeping your family safe. Of course, that includes pets. That’s we only use synthetic chemical designed to do one thing and only one thing: kill bugs.
We do our best to work around your schedule and in many cases, you don’t even need to be home. We recommend a focus on pest prevention and suggest homeowners schedule regular residential pest control visits to prevent creepy critters from ever entering the home in the first place.
